What is a Discount Website?
A discount website is a website that offers anything from high street fashion, toys, footwear, beauty products, perfume, music, dvds, electricals, home- and garden ware...and many more at a discount price. Some sites specialise in certain areas (such as perfume and beauty products).
How does it Work?
Using a discount site is just the same as using any online shop. Simply go onto the site, shop around, find an item (or many) and put into your virtual shopping basket. Once you are ready to pay, simply proceed to the virtual checkout. Pay using credit or debit card.
Do I need to Register an Account?
In some cases, yes. However, you can usually shop without registering and might be asked to quickly register an email address and name before you make your purchases.
Why Use a Discount Website?
Discount website can offer big name brands and even designer goods at much cheaper prices than you might find on the high street.
Because they are online companies, they don't have the same large overheads as high street retailers ? less staff to pay and expensive rent. In addition, they can often source their goods from large suppliers. Ain all, this allows them to offer discounts of up to 70%.
Is Shipping Free?
In most cases, no. Just like any online shop, you usually have to pay some postage and packing costs to have the item shipped to you.
Please note: some sites do not offer international delivery while others do. If you are shopping from outside of the UK, it might be worth checking this in advance to save yourself time.
What are the main Benefits?
There is much to like about discount websites. They are offering in some cases massive discounts on luxury and normal goods which we buy anyway.
- Easy to use
- Free to browse
- Some major discounts
- Massive range of goods
- Easy to pay (credit/debit card, sometimes Paypal)
Have a look at some discount sites to see what discounts you could make.
Are there any Disadvantages?
There isn't much to dislike about a service which offers large discounts on popular items. However, you might find that:
- Some discounts aren't that big
- Some sites are UK only (no international customers)
- Might not accept bank transfers (credit/debit card only)
Make sure you check what payment methods they accept and have a look at the discounts offered ? are they attractive, or have you seen better ones elsewhere?
